In 1989, Rev. Dr. Herbert H. Lusk, II, founded People for People, Inc. (PFP) a non-profit deeply grounded in Christian beliefs and principles, with the vision of people helping others. From the very start, People for People, Inc. and its partners have embraced the journey and have shared in the joys and responsibilities of helping countless Philadelphians and others around the world to change their lives. For over 35 years now, People for People, Inc. has fought for and with “the least of these” – low-income families, public housing residents, single parents, and those living in vulnerable circumstances – encouraging them to leave behind their dependency upon public assistance, substance abuse, and negativity by offering them quality education, job training, computer skills training, program certifications, and free ultrasounds and pregnancy support counseling.
