JBJ SOUL HOMES
At People for People, Inc., we believe that lasting change happens when vision, compassion, and collaboration come together. A shining example of this truth is our partnership with the Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation and Project HOME, which culminated in the opening of JBJ Soul Homes in 2014.
This four-story, mixed-use development stands as more than just a building, it is a beacon of hope. With 55 apartment units for formerly homeless and low-income individuals, alongside retail and office space, JBJ Soul Homes provides both housing and opportunity. Residents also benefit from access to supportive services including healthcare, employment training, education, and technology resources, helping them thrive long after moving in.
The grand opening was marked by inspiring words from Jon Bon Jovi, Rev. Dr. Herbert H. Lusk II, Founder of People for People, Inc., and other civic leaders. Rev. Lusk’s leadership and our organization’s management of the retail space, alongside Project HOME’s stewardship of the residential units, affirmed our shared mission: to break cycles of poverty and empower individuals through housing, community, and economic development.

As Jon Bon Jovi said at the time, “The opening of JBJ Soul Homes is another example of what I like to call The Power of WE.” Together, with public and private partners, funders, and community advocates we proved what is possible when hearts and hands join to serve Philadelphia.
