VERIZON AWARDS $20,000 TO PEOPLE FOR PEOPLE, INC.
FOR LITERACY INITIATIVE

Philadelphia, PA. – September 25, 2008

People for People has announced that Verizon has donated $20,000 to People for People, Inc. for the purpose of advancing literacy education. Herb Lusk, PFP Founder and CEO, expressed his sincere gratitude to Verizon for their generosity in partnering to bring much needed literacy instruction to many who need it. “Literacy skills are foundational to any good education, and are at the heart of the work we do here in helping people to change their lives for the better. Before we can assist anyone in building a solid, stable life with a self-sustaining job, they need a significant level of literacy in their toolbox, so Verizon has just made it possible for even more people to achieve their goals. For this we are very grateful.”

People for People, Inc. has been dedicated to bringing life changing education, job skills training and assistance in job procurement to low income Philadelphians since 1991. Please visit our web site at www.peopleforpeople.org for more information.
