Since 2005, the People for People Early Childhood Development Center has been serving families with children from 6 weeks to 6 years old who reside in the Philadelphia community. Each day, PFP ECDC professionals work hard to support and nuture children by creating enriching lessons to help your child grow socially, emotionally and cognitively. Along with all of the educational activities your child receives, PFP ECDC also provides children with a nutritious breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack.
PFP ECDC is accredited by the Pennsylvania Keystone Stars Program. Keystone Stars is an initiative to improve, support and recognize the continuous quality improvement efforts of early learning programs in Pennsylvania. We currently hold a Star 2 level of distinction. It is our intent and our near goal to achieve the Star 4 level. This level is the highest possible accreditation status to be earned.
Currently our educational resources includes Creative Curriculum designed by Teaching Strategies, Inc. This early childhood curriculum for preschool children, enhances the quality of early childhood programs by offering practical, innovative, and developmentally appropriate curriculum and assessment materials, training services and materials, and parenting resources. This curriculum is aligned to the PA Early Childhood Education Standards.
Our Dedicated Faculty
At PFP ECDC, educational excellence begins with our professional faculty. Because the success of your child is important to us we have instituted a continuous training and development program for our educational team. Annually, our teachers receive 18 hours of professional development and training to ensure they are up-to-date on the latest educational trends in early childhood learning.
PFP ECDC teachers are well-educated, trained professionals and have earned either a CDA (Child Development Associate) Certificate or an Associate's, Bachelor's or Master's degree. PFP ECDC teachers are trained and knowledgeable about early childhood education best practices.
